I stumbled toward the temple, a place of worship that had been built for Aphrodite herself. Its walls were made of marble and adorned with honey and roses, symbols of the Goddess' power over attraction. I was here to seek her blessing; to ask her for the wisdom of attraction, so that I might wield it in my own life. As I stepped through the entrance archway, a sudden chill ran down my spine as if something deep within me stirred in anticipation.
The main chamber was filled with an ethereal light that shone from everywhere and nowhere at once. In its center stood an altar made from sea foam – the very same substance from which Aphrodite had been born– and atop it lay a crown of golden roses. My heart beat faster as I knelt before this sacred object, my eyes closed in silent prayer. "Bless me," I whispered into the air, "bless me with your power to unite me with what I wish."
For several moments there was only silence, but then, as if on cue, a gentle breeze blew through the chamber bringing with it sweet-smelling rose petals floating down around me like snowflakes. A faint smile crossed my lips as warmth spread throughout my body; I knew the Goddess had heard my plea and granted me her blessing. She had bestowed upon me her divine gift: the wisdom of attraction.
With renewed enthusiasm and vigor I left the temple and returned home to face whatever obstacles may come my way knowing full well that Aphrodite's power would be by my side until all my desires become reality--a thought that left me feeling more hopeful than ever before! The story ends here for now, but who knows what mysteries await us when we next return? Until then...
Prayer card for the altar of Aphrodite.
On the back the prayer reads:
Aphrodite see me,
At your altar of honey and roses
bless me with the wisdom of attraction
Like your beauty, my desires attract;
The sea foam from which you have risen
Is the sacred fluid of union.
Unite me with what I wish,
And bless me with your power.
